I would like to know if the low suplhur damage happens to a 1985 1300L unimog ??
Yes it does. Use a fuel treatment. This applies to all of the older OM352/366 engines. Usually the low sulphur fuels were released AFTER the fuel pumps were manufactured, so they did not have that in mind at the time. That is the crux of the Bosch study.
Thank you very much for this important advice. Can you say which additive to use or what specically the ingredients the addtuve should have ? I live in a remote area and have 2 drums of this fuel to remediate. Can mix the low suplur with regular diesel ?
We use the Stanadyne Lubricity Formula. Bosch would not have put out this technical bulletin unless they felt it was an issue. How much of an issue is unknown as we have many owners who do not use the additives. Cost of an injection pump rebuild is ugly, so for us it is simply insurance....
